New polls please
Hey guys,

The results of last week's video vote are in! All week long, you've been voting on whose "Weirdest Local" video was the best. I can now reveal that the winner is...

DAVE!

Congratulations, Daveinator. As well as the glory of beating your fellow travellers, you also win $100 US, which is winging its way to your bank account as we speak. Woo! You can see the winning video here: http://www.bebo.com/watch/7670364966

Which brings us very neatly to the subject of this week's poll. We asked our travellers to recreate their favourite Gap Year moment so far. The results were downright hilarious! So once again, we want you to vote for your favourite, and as a little bonus game, see if you can match the original videos to our travellers' versions... http://www.bebo.com/ContestView.jsp?...

Sadly, Roxy couldn't get her video to us in time for inclusion in the vote. A shame, as we were looking forward to seeing her rolling about in the mud, Lewis-in-Colombia-style. Here's hoping we have a full compliment next time.

PS. Don't forget the new competition! See below...

Meet Cara in London!
The dust from our Canon camera competition has barely settled and we’re already offering you the chance to win another fantastic prize. Our American traveller Cara is going to be in London on 9th September, and we want one of YOU to show her the sights and help out with a challenge set by PSP!

If you’d like the chance to appear in a Gap Year video with Cara on a great day out in London (with reasonable travel expenses paid), here’s what you need to do:

Become a fan of The Gap Year and then leave a comment on The Gap Year page ( www.bebo.com/thegapyear ) telling us how old you are and what London landmark you’d most like to show Cara. You should also add a photo so Cara will recognise you!

Make sure you’ve left your comment by 5pm, 3rd September 2008. You must be over 13 and live in the UK.

For full terms and conditions, please see http://www.bebo.com/BlogView.jsp?Mem... .

A real review (1000 characters!?)

Its good to see the makers of big brother have taken a break from their exploitation of dim-wits in the big brother house, but id hardly call this a reality television show. All the camera work clearly suggests some scenes where shot several times and where contrived, it simply doesn't feel real.

I think its time these 'big brother' people gave up on the game. They have already ruined their name in television and its obvious they're trying to claw their way back to some sort of admirability by other production companies through taking a risk in the 'new media' of internet television

This surely is not going to happen with such a weak production quality. if the production crew have to go as far as breaking a style and start audibly asking questions during the piece after a no interviewer style has been established, they clearly have a long way to go in order to gain even half an image of professionalism their useless big brother has taken from them.

I watched the army one.
